July 1, 2015

Oh 2014, you were such a good year to the boys. And with that being said, Big Hit figured out how we everyone can relive how great 2014 was, by releasing the BTS Memories of 2014 DVD + Photobook.

I got so frustrated after receiving the notice card from the central post office, telling me that my package was handed to the customs. Which I find ridiculous, for starters. It’s a small package, as far as I’m concerned.

But all my petty whining punched me so hard in the face. For when I arrived, and inspected my package in comes this humongous box. Gasps! Even the inspector was surprised that it only contains one item. Unbelievable.

I must give it up for Synarra, for being such an endearing store, being all meticulous with packaging their products, but a humongous box like that will make customs officers think I received 10-20 puppies. Sighs. But yes, thank you Synnara. You is awesome forever.

As expected. The whole of it is of the right size. And as I am writing this draft, I still have not watched the DVD(EDIT: I HAVE WATCHED THE DVD! I.HAVE. WATCHED. THE. DVD. But only the 2 of DVDs, and I have not finished the other features of the 2nd DVD, so...). So… I don’t want you all to expect anything. Besides the DVD seems to be uploaded all over the interwebs as well. So just google the shit out of it, if you have not seen it yet.

I love how the entirety of it can be kept in a plastic thing that protects both the photobook and DVD set. And guhhh… the gold details is on point, you guys. I’m just, I’m… satisfied. Satisfied. Let me repeat that again, SATISFIED.

The 100-page photobook contains scenes from their 1st Muster Fanmeeting, RWeL8 Fanmeeting in Europe and South America, and lastly the Episode II. The Red Bullet in Seoul.

The photobook reminds me so much of the one that comes with the Special Addition Album. It’s not much, but has those candid behind the scenes shots, which I am a huge sucker for. The boys are undeniably photogenic, so there's no complaints at all.

I really love the RWeL8? portion of the whole photobook the most. It has those candid photos I mostly feed on. And the photos of the European ARMYs are just precious.

I also noticed that I'm not particularly biased with Seokjin photos for this one, which is a good sign. Since I only tend to stare at Seokjin for hours whenever I open my new merch, so yes, I have matured in that department (I think?).

Speaking of candid, the Sweden section had the most of them, by the way. I particularly adored the shots of their backs walking. It's a really nice shot. Photographer-nim, whoever you are, I really like your work.

The Red Bullet candid was just breathtaking as well. I swear I tried my hardest not to be too Seokjin-biased. And let me rephrase that, everything in the photobook is breathtaking, what am I even saying now. I'm at loss, honestly.

And of course, the sweetest forever… never forgetting to thank their beloved ARMYs.

The three-dvd thing reminds me of Arashi’s concert DVDs back in the day, when I had them. Which made me go a little nostalgic about things.

EDIT: Since I have watch more than half footage of the three DVDs, I must warn each and everyone... if you have not watched it. BEWARE OF JIMIN. JIMIN. PARK. JIMIN.

That boy, I cannot. I just cannot. All this time I was expecting to be all high on Seokjin, but I was wrong. I was wrong. Most of the footage were composed of so much of Jimin focused shots, I'm shocked. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I'm just... I give up you guys. Jimin, how dare you...

Sorry if I am not making sense. But what I hated from the whole thing, physical wise (if that is the term to use for my argument), the material/paper they used for the cover of the Photobook and DVD booklet easily gets marks.

And since I am such a meticulous person when it comes to merchandise, how I wish they selected something that won’t get tainted(?) easily. Yes we got the whole plastic protector going on, but it’s still not safe from scratches, since the paper itself is easy to soil(?).  Even the protector is not safe from scratch marks. But that’s just the OCD in me. I mind it, and the majority of people don’t.

Nonetheless, it's such a great concept to have everything compiled for the past year. It's like those yearbooks you get after graduating. A time capsule of somesort. Don't tell me they're going to release a 2015 one too?! Which is fine, so fine. I swear, it's fine. /whispers to Big Hit: TAKE ALL MY MONEEEY!

And oh! Before I forget, lastly...  the shots of the poster that comes with it. I can't take a photo of it as a whole though. Since it was rolled.
