A Good Read: Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig
Wednesday, August 31, 2016August 18, 2016
The past month, I felt I needed something to remind me that
somehow things will turn out fine eventually. And I found that in a book –
Reasons to Stay Alive.
I first knew about this book after watching Will Darbyshire’s youtube video, where he recommended the said book with the same title.
It kind of rang to me that I needed to get copy, then fast
forward to August 18th – where I was just going everywhere to search
for an available copy of Will’s "This Modern Love" - which unfortunately was sold
out almost everywhere. And I was left with a list where Reasons to Stay Alive was number one.
Thankfully, the store has its last copy and well... here I am
writing about it.
I was only on page one, and I kid you not. Tears were
rolling down my face. Never have I ever found a book that depicts most of what
I have been feeling, what I have been thinking, and what I have been going
through.
The book is a collection of thoughts, reminders and episodes
that help the author – Matt Haig realizes there will always be a reason to stay
alive.
And so, if you find yourself facing the black dog, or you
just want to read something life-saving, heartwarming and funny, this book is
for you.
