2014 BTS(방탄소년단) Photobook 'NOW': BTS in Thailand
Wednesday, August 19, 2015August 2, 2015
Be warned, semi-dramatic post ahead.
...or not.
The lighting was so pretty in my room one Sunday, and I felt decided to once more open a particular photobook, which is the very first BTS 'NOW' Photobook titled BTS in Thailand! It is the first of the BTS NOW Series photobooks. I remember how hyped everyone was when this came out along with the goods for the boys' first ever MUSTER. It was chaos.
Looking back at all that happened at that time, it was hard for me to get a hold of this photobook when it first went out. It even reached to a point where I was forced to go on hiatus, and drink it off(my feelings) with Sprite(because I don't drink.). Oh past Laline, you're petty and pretty funny.
Proving that if there's a will, there's a way. Or because BigHit just wants all our money. I got a copy. So is everyone else. And that is what matters now, right?
Assuming that everyone have seen the scans for this photobook, I'm not going to be all up taking photos of each and every page.
I only have picked a specific 'few'. With the word 'few' meaning, I tried to narrow it down to the ones I really, really love. Because let's be honest, everything about this photo book is golden.
I like this one better. More than the recent release which is the BTS Now 2 Photobook. I have stated before that the 'Now 2' is a huge improvement from this photobook. And that is a sad late realization. Guess who is eating her words now? Me.
I just recently opened this little treasure once again, can you blame me for that?
The contents and/or parts consists of the same number with the Now 2. What I loved more about this photobook is that it is kind-of properly themed. It felt like you went on a holiday with the boys, documenting everything from the hotel room to missions outside. Rather than just a theme expressed through clothes, makeup, settings and lyrics.
CONTENTS:
Part 1: Hotel Room
SCREAMS! ADORABLE. Goodness, these boys. I cannot forget how much I screamed when I finally got to view this book. It felt like you were looking back on a holiday you went to. The feels are that strong.
It was really evident when you watch the DVD. And you see how these photos came about. I love how genuine and simple the shoot was. It felt like they were not doing it because it's their job, more like: they were in thailand, they're going on a vactation and a photographer was just there to document things. That's how everything felt like. It's not conceptually heavy. Which is a good thing.
I especially loved these photos below of Yoongi with his camera. There is just something about Photographer Yoongi that makes ten times more attractive for his sake. And that is unfair, everything about Yoongi is unfair.I hope he releases a photobook of the photos he took in the near future. Because that would be amazing. Have you seen some of his posts in the BTS Blog?!
Also I am guessing, this photobook might have foreshadowed my eventual Seokjin - Jimin bias. It was just there, if only I have realized it sooner. I should've been more careful. Oh Past Laline, you should've dodged that big bullet. Damn.
But of course, we all know who takes up most of the space in my little, teeny-tiny, heart... this guy:
Part 2: Resort
My kind-of least favorite part out of all the sections. I just find the setting too dark. Bur since the whole thing is such a chill concept, it's forgivable. I really loved Seokjin's outfit in this part though. Whew, whew.
And as I was complaining about how dark the photos were, I realized this happened:
Laline down, I repeat Laline is down.
(。´>д<)っ彡☆
Part 3: Sports
Here's where you see the boys 'playing' sports for the camera. Funny how when you watch this part for the DVD, you'll see them being all dorky and adorable because they somewhat fail in the sports department.
BUT!!! Fail has an exception, and that is for these two precious beings. Dammmmnnnnnn, if you think Yoongi is already manly... you should see him playing basketball. And he'll only not show you manly. He'll define what the actual fudge MANLY means. And we have to give it up to Jimin, who's such an little cinnamon roll (Definition: Someone who is too cute and innocent for this world, and should be protected from this world.) towards his Yoongi-hyung.
Part 4: Pool
There will be no shirtless Kookie or Jimin in this blog post. You can google that.
Part 5: Hotel At Night
They all look so sharp. I kind of lost my mind when I saw this particular Seokjin photo below. I don't know what to do. I might just hide myself in a rabbit hole, because I just cannot. It's too much for my poor heart. (I'm adding in some Yoongi - Jimin, because I am biased as f*ck.)
Part 6: Pattaya
I guess this was the part where the boys were give the chance to roam around the area? I actually forgot that this happened in the DVD. Except for precious Seokjin posing-walking wearing a Tank Top.
And can I just say? Boy, oh boy. Yoongi looks so fine. His get-up in this part was my favorite out of all boys' outfits.
(/∇\*)。o○♡
But let us not forget the appearance of TANK TOP SEOKJIN! Flaunt those arms, boy! FLAUNT!
Part 7: BTS Top Model
It's not a BTS thing without competition about who looks more like model above the other. Which is kind of pointless, because all of them looks so amazing. There is no need for competition.
It was fun to see them think of concepts and go all out about it. The efforts of the young ones was just too precious to watch too. They really took it so seriously, I have no words for the effort put in.
And I guess, you could tell whose team I'm on. The team Mango. The Hyungs. Because that is how I am. I'm biased, and no one can stop me.
I guess by now, you could tell that Yoongi won as my favorite person in this photobook. Despite my undeniably STRONG Seokjin bias. I had to give it to Yoongi for looking good, specially in this photobook. Well he always does, but everything about him in this photobook is so on point. It makes me want to punch a wall.
I'm not really a fan of the Photobook's protective cover - camouflage in shades of turquoise green and a splash of yellow, like really? Why? But I'm glad they did not incorporate that with the main product which is the photobook itself.
The log section is purely Korean, and I really appreciate the fact that they improved that in the Now 2 Photobook where they translated the logs in both Korean and English(And Japanese too?). And you bet that I'm excited for the coming NOW 3.
Goodies!
It's one of my first major Bangtan splurges since I became a aware of the boys, so I guess that's why it holds a very special place in my heart. The photos are exceptional in my opinion, because everything seemed so natural and casual, which are the factors I love and always look for.
