Jeong Sewoon (정세운): The First Mini Album, Part. 1 EVER (Glow Version)
Friday, October 20, 2017I'm just gonna say it now, this mini album's packaging has got to be one of the prettiest I've ever seen. The moment my sister opened her package, I'm like in awe. It was that pretty. Like, seriously... it's pretty.

Jeong Se Woon was one of the Produce 101 Season 2 finalists - but I actually didn't watch the show so I don't know much of who he was. But my sister likes him a lot, so I'm kinda familiar with him to some degree.
My sister wasn't really planning on getting this release, but we found it really pretty based on the cover alone. And since the teaser felt promising, she thankfully gave in and gave me the green light to order one version out of the two. (She originally wanted the green version, but I was too determined for her to get the glow one.) And boy, oh boy... opening this one was such a treat to the eyes and heart. It's like opening up a care package!

The Glow Edition includes the CD, an 80-page Glow version photo book, a 44-page booklet, 2 folded posters, and a random photo card.
Looking at the box alone, you could tell how much detail and attention was put into this mini album (Which reminds me of the Grand Budapest Mendl's bakery box for some reasons). There was this cute part where they indicated the ABCs of Jeong Se Woon and that was adorable. Inside the box, there are guitar doodles as well as Gemini (being his star sign.)
The CD is in a plastic hard case that has red detailing which I find very clever. I like that about it. It's simple yet it stands out. It also veers away from the paper pouch trend in most of the recent KPOP physical releases.
The layout for the 80-page photo book is divine. It's clean, crisp and pretty. If you're a fan of him, you'll appreciate the little details on each page which are a treat.
The 44-page booklet acts like a photo book and lyrics book in one. (A great idea having them separate, more things in the album, haha!)
The photo card mimics a mini Instax photo, which also has a cute detailing of his name at the back. Clever, very very clever, indeed.
Since we had this release pre-ordered, we were one of the lucky people to score a randomly included bonus postcard as well.
The 2 folded posters did not disappoint, for both is a back-to-back poster. Giving my sister a dilemma which one to display if ever she decides to frame one (or both).
The album artwork and design was done by MILLA ARIWAN, printed by TODAY ART and manufactured by Seoul Media. (Which are also the same people who worked on MONSTA X's Shine Forever which I find really interesting. I'm excited to see more of their releases in the future.)
My only concern about the packaging is the cardboard box cover, since it's not as sturdy and could be easily ripped off if not careful. But that's how it goes with most of the albums so it's not really a big concern.
As for the songs, I love every track in this release. From the moment when the highlight medley was released, I was sure I'm gonna love every track. And I found myself listening to it all the time, it's insane. My favorite would probably Track 5: 괜찮다면 (PROD. 브라더수) – 정세운, 브라더수 (Brother Su). Mostly because it's with Brother Su, Brother Su produced it, and the song is good. Every track is good. You should give it a listen. It's good.
Overall, I'm just really happy my sister got this album (technically it could be mine as well because I ordered it for her, ha!). It's so pretty, how I wish that we could've bought the Green version as well(we'll see!). The product design nerd in me was screaming whilst looking at it - the little details and its clean layout are just perfect!
