A Good Read: #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso

For the past month, I have been in this spiral of thoughts
that mainly is just a spiral caused by confusion - I had been always down. And
good lord, I thought there was no end to it.
Evident with my past post, I decided to put my attention to
books. And boy did they helped me a lot.
Purchasing #GirlBoss is a spontaneous decision. I never
really knew who Sophia Amoruso was, or even what Nasty Gal is(I know, I suck
and I live in cave, I guess?). But I got it anyway.
The fear of regretting this particular book purchase slowly
fades away as I find myself reading page, after page, after page.
To think that this book was written by a broke,
directionless e-bay seller who became a founder and executive chairman of a million
plus dollar fashion retailer company. It was unexpectedly not about how to put up a
business, it’s more about how to be yourself – and find your inner #GIRLBOSS.
Composed of eleven chapters filled with quirky yet uplifting
stories, straight to the point tips, and reminders. #GirlBoss became somewhat
like a life bible for me, so to speak. A book where I could go on and on, for
days how much it helped know how to face every challenge there is.
And to end this post, I leave you all with one of my many
favorite cues from #GirlBoss:
But, here’s the real shit: You can’t have it all, and nothing
comes easy. You will make sacrifices and compromises, get let down and let
other people down, fail and start over break some hearts, take some names and
learn to pick up and continue when your own heart gets broken. But difficult
doesn’t mean impossible, and out of the bajillions of things in this universe
that you can’t control, what you can control is how hard you try, and if or
when to pack it in.
